People of Commedia dell'Arte

As a kick-off to Dell'Arte International's 40th anniversary of its training school, Dell'Arte's Founding Artistic Director Joan Schirle will read from her two recently published essays on Women In Commedia and the importance of DAI's founder, Carlo Mazzone-Clementi (1920 - 2000) to commedia dell'arte in North America. The event will take place in the theatre named after Mazzone-Clementi, who with his wife Jane Hill, founded DAI in Blue Lake in 1974. The reading will be followed by a toast to 40 years of collaborative creation and performance.
