a staged reading of a new commedia dell'arte play
After a home-based accident, Florinda, a docile ladina wife, suddenly turns into a perfect English-speaking stranger. Conchita, the house maid, must come up with a plan to get Mario and Florinda's home back to normal, and so she visits an old guillible doctor to trick La Doctora into giving Florinda free treatment. When a new language unexpectedly replaces the mother tongue, is the new dialect a parasite or a symptom? And how do you bring back a language that voluntarily vanished?
