Lauren Bone Noble's suff*rage is a contemporary commedia revenge fantasy about events surrounding the Seneca Falls Convention.

Previously developed at SUNY New Paltz and workshopped at Seattle Public Theatre, this reading at The George Washington University features an updated script by Noble and direction by Faction of Fools' Co-Artistic Director Francesca Chilcote.

LAUREN BONE NOBLE (playwright) is Assistant Professor of Movement for the Actor in the Department of Theatre and Film at the University of Mississippi.  She has written and performed her own one person show FURY! at the Phoenicia Fringe Festival and at the Denizen Theatre.  She has also performed internationally, on and off Broadway, and regionally, and her TV credits include Law and Order, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Guiding Light, All My Children and over 30 national network commercials.  She holds an MFA (National Theatre Conservatory) and BFA (University of Memphis) and has studied with Giovanni Fusetti, Charlie Oates, Susan Chrietzberg, David Bridel and Ronlin Foreman.  Lauren is represented by KMR Talent in New York City.

FRANCESCA CHILCOTE (director) is Co-Artistic Director of Faction of Fools, DC's award-winning Commedia dell'Arte company.  She holds a BA in Theatre from the The College of William and Mary and an MFA in Physical Theatre from the Accademia dell'Arte (Arezzo, IT), where she studied Commedia dell’Arte under Maestro Marcello Bartoli. Her master’s thesis work, “The Creation of (Wo)Man: Using Corporal and Carnivalesque Elements of the Commedia dell’Arte to Interrogate Origins of the Female Representation, in text of John Milton’s Paradise Lost, and on the Stage of the Commedia Players,” examined the roles of women in the commedia, and sought to transform these roles through feminist theatre techniques. She is a founding member of Women From Mars and has performed across Italy and throughout the DC-Baltimore area.  She is also a staff member of Educational Theatre Company (ETC), where she is the Assistant Director of their Shakespeare in the Schools program, and she teaches clown, commedia, and devising at the Performing and Visual Arts magnet program at Annapolis High School in Anne Arundel County, MD. Francesca is a certified teacher of Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS). Her work as an Italian translator is featured in The Routledge Companion to Commedia dell’Arte.
