A STORIA DI ROMEO E GIULIETTA ASSAI LIBERAMENTE TRASFORMATA in QUATTRO CANOVACCI DI COMMEDIA DELL’ARTE
Il “Canovaccio”, forma drammaturgica tradizionale della Commedia dell’Arte, è uno spettacolo dove la struttura semplice della storia lascia spazio al talento improvvisativo degli attori, in uno stile dinamico e divertente, dove la tradizione si sposa con la modernità e l’attore-giocatore rivela la ua follia e il suo talento grazie alla vitalità delle mezze maschere.
La Commedia dell’Arte è il gioco della urgenza e della sopravvivenza. Tutte le passioni che animano i personaggi sono portate alle loro forme più estreme. I personaggi, trasposti dalle maschere fino a diventare dei tipi fissi, rappresentanti di intere categorie del genere umano. Lo stile richiede all’attore un livello di gioco in cui il corpo è totalmente coinvolto, vivo e sempre attivo. Per questi motivi la CdA è una celebrazione corporea di ritmo, attitudini e follia improvvisativa.
Gli allievi di Helikos e del Seminario Internazionale di Commedia dell’Arte porteranno in scena quattro adattamenti originali della storia di Romeo e Giulietta, usando mezze maschere tradizionali e contemporanee.

Commedia dell'Arte is the game of emergency and survival. All the passions that animate the characters are brought to their most extreme forms. The characters, transposed from the forms until they become fixed types, are representatives of entire categories of mankind. The style requires the actor to have a level of play in which the body is totally involved, always alive and active. For these reasons, the Canovacci is a celebration of body rhythm, attitudes and improvisational madness
The students of the second year at Helikos and the International Seminar of Commedia dell'Arte participants will stage four original adaptations of the story of Romeo and Juliet, using trditional and contemporary half masks.
HELIKOS è una Scuola Internazionale di Creazione Teatrale. Allievi-attori, provenienti da tutto il mondo, si ritrovano per sei mesi l’anno a Firenze a studiare teatro gestuale: ovvero come creare teatro partendo dal corpo. L’obiettivo della Scuola è di formare degli artisti di teatro: giocatori e creatori della propria arte.

In the journey of theatre, Helikos is developing new artistic and pedagogic forms, which are in permanent evolution.
CREATION
In Helikos’ practice of theatre-making the actor is not only interpreter but also author and director of her/his own work. CREATION is the birth of the world, and the artist recreates the world in each gesture. To create (from the Greek: chreas=flesh) means to give body, and the body is the main instrument of the artist. It allows beauty to become visible.
