Gangarilla Producciones

Gangarilla Producciones has been appointed to organize the Flagship event of Commedia dell'Arte Day 2027.

Gangarilla Producciones is a young theatre company founded in 2013 by Joaquín Serrano, an actor from Lucena. In 2021, it reinvented itself as a theatre and audiovisual production company, focusing on and specialising in the production, creation and staging of theatre productions for children and families, with a particular emphasis on puppet and marionette theatre; and on Commedia dell’Arte, a classical 16th-century Italian theatre genre. In addition to this, it organises socio-cultural activities, storytelling sessions and training courses.
In doing so, whilst consolidating its identity and activities, it has managed to grow and make a name for itself across much of Andalusia, even expanding its horizons beyond the region. Furthermore, since 2021, Gangarilla Producciones has not only re-emerged and reinvented itself, but its growth must also be seen in the light of the professionalism of its team, which has ensured that its productions and content are of the highest quality. Since 2023, Gangarilla Producciones has organised the Ciudad de Lucena International Commedia dell’Arte Festival in its home town, dedicated to this theatrical genre. The festival has now been held four times and welcomes companies from all over the world every year, such as: Comedia del Arte Chile (Santiago de Chile), Teatro Strappato (Venezuela and Italy), Fraternal Compagnia APS (Bologna) and Daniele Faccioli (Naples).
Furthermore, since 2025, this festival has been twinned with the Lorquí International Commedia dell’Arte Week, organised by Teatro Strappato. In 2026, it organised its second festival in Lucena, this time dedicated to the environment and family theatre: FAMFEST – Family Theatre Festival in Parque Europa. This first edition attracted more than 1,300 spectators over the four days of the festival.
Gangarilla Producciones is a cultural organisation comprising the following members: Joaquín Serrano Molinero, CEO, teacher and actor with over 17 years’ experience in the sector; Elena Moreno Nieto, teacher and actress, with over 12 years’ experience; Araceli Exojo, an actress with over 3 years’ experience; Cristina Pineda, responsible for social media, event organisation and protocol, with over 5 years’ experience; and Antonio Serrano, technical assistant and audiovisual producer, with over 7 years’ experience.
The company is affiliated with SGAE (General Society of Authors and Publishers), UNIMA Andalucía (International Union of Puppetry), RIC (International Network of Storytellers), ASSITEJ ESPAÑA (Association of Performing Arts for Children and Young People) and SAT in Italy.
