In Turin in the 2011 for the second edition the theatre company Santibriganti organizes a celebration day that gathers different artists and audience from the 5 continents.
The 'Commedia dell'Arte', symbol of italian and european renaissance theatre, today is still a reality with a large actors' community from all over the world that is playing with masks and their different languages. Among the guests Madame Lecoq, widow of the unforgettable master Jacques Lecoq (one of the first artists that relied his theatre researches and teaching on the use of mask) and Mimmo Cuticchio, from the tradition of the sicilian Pupi and Lo Cunto.
Besides, at the Garybaldi Theatre of Settimo Torinese (Torino), there will be the sixth edition of the MascheraFest festival (dedicated to Commedia dell’Arte e popular theatre traditions) with remarkable performances and prestigious artists.
We thank all the actors, masks' makers and theatre experts that will be in Turin and the people all over the world that coordinated by Faction of Fools (Washington DC - USA) will celebrate the second Commedia dell' Arte Day. At last, but not the least, we want to thank all the cultural institutions of Turin and the Piedmont Region for the collaboration.
