When the Italian commedia dell'arte appeared in the 16th century, it was a kind of cultural and social revolution. Some of the changes, that commedia introduced in the world of theater became permanent, such as the elevating the status of an actor to the rank of a craft or the presence of women-actresses on the stage.
The central event of this year's celebrations in Kraków will be the premiere of the performance by the Troupe KOMEDIANTY - Zan Tempesta. This time it will be a story about artists - dressed in historical costume, but still current. In addition to the performance, the program will include workshops, an exhibition of art works, lessons of commedia dell'arte for young people and the opera buffa La Serva Padrona performed by students of the Academy of Music in Katowice.
